Dealer Sales Representative

 

McCrae Recruiting is looking for an experienced  Dealer Sales Representative to join our clients growing team within the Durham Region.

Job Overview

 Manage incoming sales inquiries from dealers and customers.

  • Support sales staff with quotes, site visits, and drawings as required.
  • Provide customer service and quotations for contractor and dealer sales.
  • Assist in pricing updates and standardization of quotations.
  • Create production drawings for small orders.
  • Address walk-in customer inquiries as needed.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all manufactured products.
  • Assist with dealer training initiatives.
  • Travel to visit out-of-town dealers as required.
  • Utilize internal sales software (CRM) to manage account activities and maintain records.
  • Achieve basic competency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
  • Assist in developing and updating a Dealer Presentation Package.
  • Ensure CAD design work aligns with company drawing standards.
  • Create layouts, develop elevations, and determine weight and pricing for project components.
  • Enter project information into Business Central for quote creation.
  • Other tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

Structural Designer

 McCrae Recruiting is seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our client’s growing team in the Durham Region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing structural systems within the steel industry and civil engineering sectors, ensuring that designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural designs for steel structures and civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and relevant codes.
  • Create 2D and 3D CAD part/assembly drawings for steel structures, bridges, and other civil engineering components in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Revise and update drawings during the design and construction phases of projects.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the master file database for all drawings and related records.
  • Analyze and interpret structural and architectural drawings, including building egress and layout, for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Provide Bill of Materials (BOM) and specifications based on project requirements.
  • Determine appropriate steel sections and components required to meet customer needs, based on capacity and weight calculations provided by the Sales Team.
  • Prepare material take-offs and quotations using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Business Solutions Navision, following internal pricing and standardized descriptions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to resolve design challenges and optimize component layouts.
  • Conduct site visits when necessary to support the customer or Sales department.
  • Track drawing assignments and monitor completion deadlines for each project.
  • Maintain and enhance proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for structural design.
  • Review and analyze client specifications, sketches, and related data to evaluate factors impacting design and construction procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings is essential.
  • Previous experience in the steel or manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural design, the Ontario Building Code, and building permit processes is a must.
  • Strong ability to think analytically, plan, and coordinate projects effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
